PARIS JACKSON, daughter of pop legend Michael Jackson, made a fashion statement as she took to the red carpet at the LACMA Art and Film Gala on Saturday night.

The American actress and singer stood out in a diamante encrusted floor length beige gown but it was not so much the dress which turned heads at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA).

The 20-year-old defied the usual red carpet rues as she skipped the heels and opted for a pair of Gucci trainers which replicated the traditional hiking boots.

The toffee coloured trainers featured gem-embellished crossing straps with a lace-up fastening.

It donned the famous Gucci logo on the trainers tongue and she completed the look with a beaded turquoise ankle bracelet.

Paris certainly exuded elegance with a bohemian inspired long-sleeved Gucci cream dress which featured diamantes on the cuffs.

The shoulder pads on the dress featured a sheer lace cover which also featured diamantes and the waist of the dress was accessorised with a white belt.

She kept her brunette tresses straight keeping this part of her look simple.

Her contoured face featured a dark smokey eye and she added a deep pink blusher to her cheeks.

She also added a deep pink lip to her full lips to complete her red carpet look.

This year LACMA honored photographer Catherine Opie and filmmaker Guillermo del Toro at the VIP affair.

Other celebrities at the gala included Kim Kardashian and her sister Koutrney Kardashian.

The reality sisters looked chic in floor length black gowns as they rocked their signature sleek locks.

Salma Hayak, Dakota Johnson and Lana Del Ray also rocked up to the hip event.

Paris recently took to her Twitter page to discuss her fashion looks for Halloween.

The model told her 1.34 millions: “When you go as Janis Joplin for Halloween and everyone thinks you’re just wearing your own clothes and going as yourself.”

Another said: “I love you. Your my favourite hippie.”

A third person commented:”Your a legend Paris, you’re a very unique person. Please don’t ever change.

While a fourth person quipped: “I would take it as a compliment.”

THE MASCARENE PARROT

The Mascarene parrot was 35 cm (14 in) in length with a large red bill and long, rounded tail feathers. Its legs were red, and it had naked red skin around the eyes and nostrils. It had a black facial mask and partially white tail feathers, but the colouration of the body, wings and head is unclear. Descriptions from life indicate the body and head were ash grey, and the white part of the tail had two dark central feathers. In contrast, descriptions based on stuffed specimens state that the body was brown and the head bluish but do not mention the dark central tail feathers. This may be due to the specimens having changed colour as a result of aging and exposure to light, as well as other forms of damage. Very little is known about the bird in life. The Mascarene parrot was first mentioned in 1674, and live specimens were later brought to Europe, where they lived in captivity . The species was scientifically described in 1771. Only two stuffed specimens exist today, in Paris and Vienn...
