Nnamdi Kanu's Magical Appearance and Disappearance Claims: A wake-up Call.

Let this controversial topic be laid to rest once and for all. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has come out to tell Nigerians that he bodily present during his parents' burial yet most people have not come to believe his claims. They keep holding on to the fact that there's no way he would have entered this country without anyone noticing it, except he shuttles between the world of the humans and the world of the spirits. The Igbos call it "Okara Mmadu, Okara Mmuo" meaning "Half human, half spirit" . This is a word usually used to describe spiritists especially the witch doctors and some mystical traditional medicine men known as "Dibia" that could appear and disappear. Maybe, just maybe, Nnamdi Kanu has such magical powers.

It is no longer a rocket science that people beat security to do what they want to do in all parts of the world. The more sophisticated the security apparatus is, the more the gadgets to beat it will be. We have the instances of Osama bin laden of 9/11, former governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Alamesieghe, the recent US airstrike at Baghdad airport and even his escape from Nigeria when "operation python dance" danced into his father's compound in Afaraukwu, Abia state, Nigeria and many more examples. His successful entry into Nigeria during the burial of his parents and exit is not an impossible task.

Nigerian is not among the top twenty secured countries of the world. Even if it is, the best of the countries has been beaten in the recent past year. So it's no big deal to the fact that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu may have attended his parents' burial without our knowing. He could disguised as a woman like Alamesiegha of Bayelsa State or worn a mask over his face like in some Hollywood movies. He could also bribe his way through to his father's house in Afaraukwu, Abia state. After all, most of the police and army check points that are on our roads are not there to check for security purposes but for the hundred naira that motorists give them. It is when a motorists refuses to give them that they would be in attempt to frustrate the motorist delay him by lazily checking and searching them.

Again the Nigerian borders and airports that were porous enough to allow him escape at the first instance are still porous to allow him enter and escape again. Since Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's escape from Nigeria, no major reform or adjustment has been made on the securing the borders and the airports. It then leaves us with no doubt that he can enter and exist the country again and again. Is it not even worrisome that after his previous escape, till now, no one has been questioned or queried about his escape. The institutions concerned with such escapes had not sat down to review how the escape took place successfully and how to prevent future occurrences.

Like case of Nnamdi Kanu, there have been other cases of people entering and exiting Nigeria illegally. The likes of the deadly herdsmen claimed to have entered illegally, Boko Haram fighters, smuggled goods by smugglers and trafficked persons by human traffickers. All these call out the agencies concerned to wake-up and sit-up to their responsibilities. If Nigeria is to join the league of great and thriving nations, immigration and security must be taken very serious. The Nigerian immigration Service and other security agents the time is now, to sit to your responsibilities and shut the mouths that are spitting your face by saying there is no security in Nigeria. These negative comments and claims will makes us as a nation look very backward and unserious.

What do think Nigeria can do to prevent claims and case like these? Do you believe that Nnamdi Kanu' intelligence is superior to the Nigerian security agents?

Coronavirus: 'The worst bit is the uncontrollable coughing'

"The worst bit is the uncontrollable coughing," says Andrew O'Dwyer, who is recovering after being infected with the new coronavirus following a skiing trip to Italy in late February. "I've had worse flu, without a doubt - but I wouldn't want to catch it again," he says during his self-isolation at home in south-west London. Despite having type 1 diabetes, Andrew says having the virus "isn't anything to worry about for me personally". He adds that the fever he experienced is "no different to normal flu-type symptoms". "I've not been concerned," he says. The severity of symptoms can vary widely among people. Those who are older and have pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) are more likely to become severely ill and can need hospital treatment. There have been 10 coronavirus-related deaths so far in the UK. Andrew was told the virus wasn't circulating in the resort ...

THE MASCARENE PARROT

The Mascarene parrot was 35 cm (14 in) in length with a large red bill and long, rounded tail feathers. Its legs were red, and it had naked red skin around the eyes and nostrils. It had a black facial mask and partially white tail feathers, but the colouration of the body, wings and head is unclear. Descriptions from life indicate the body and head were ash grey, and the white part of the tail had two dark central feathers. In contrast, descriptions based on stuffed specimens state that the body was brown and the head bluish but do not mention the dark central tail feathers. This may be due to the specimens having changed colour as a result of aging and exposure to light, as well as other forms of damage. Very little is known about the bird in life. The Mascarene parrot was first mentioned in 1674, and live specimens were later brought to Europe, where they lived in captivity . The species was scientifically described in 1771. Only two stuffed specimens exist today, in Paris and Vienn...
