Marcus Rashford explains what was going through his mind before taking THAT penalty

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford sent his side to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League with his stoppage-time goal and revealed that training for penalties every day gave him to confidence to convert the spot kick against Paris Saint Germain.

With the tie entering extra time Diogo Dalot drove forward before releasing a shot that was handled by Presnel Kimpembe and after a long check on VAR by referee Damir Skomina, he finally pointed to the spot. Pressure fell on Rashford who stepped up to take his first United penalty ever and he held his nerve to convert it and send United to the quarters on away goals rule.

Speaking after the clash, Rashford revealed that training for spot kicks every day gave him the confidence to take the penalty against PSG, “I think keep a cool head they’re the kind of things I practice every day and I wanted to take it. We got the goal and we’re progressing. The wait before is probably the hardest thing, but it’s all part of the game, and those moments are what we live for you want to get through those moments and be smiling after.”
