Jesse Lingard and Andreas Perreira got a rare start yesterday in Manchester United's UEFA Europa League match against Club Brugge, and it's safe to say that both of them do not have a future at the club.
The match was an opportunity for them to repair their damaged reputations, and build up a bit of confidence and momentum that having a good game gives to a football player, but instead, they underperformed, offering nothing of note to the team for the whole duration of the match.
It even got worse when Simon Mignolet, Liverpool's forgotten man, who is now the first choice goalkeeper at Brugge, grabbed an assist, when his long punt upfield found Emmanuel Bonaventure who lobbed it past the hapless Sergio Romero.
Fans were quick to point out that, with that assist, Mignolet has equalled the total number of assists that Jesse Lingard has given all season - very poor statistic for an attacking midfielder.
The team got a respite, when Anthony Martial scored for the second game in a row, to make it 1-1.
However, this didn't stop irate fans from letting their feelings known to Lingard and Perreira, after the game.
What do you think about these two players?
Do they belong at Manchester United?
Should they be sold in the summer?
Let me know what you think
